I have an 8800GT on order for my new Mac Pro. It's expensive compared to the PC version but is an easy switch to use between Vista and OS X.

My question is if I wanted to add a PC 8800 GTX to my Mac Pro along with the ATI 2600 that's in there already do I just put it in and connect the power leads and it will work in Vista? I know it won't work in OS X but do I have to remove the ATI card every time I want to use or just change the DVI cable from ATI to 8800 and boot Vista and all is good?

Thanx!

Yes, you can do that. Just make sure to select the GTX as the default card under Windows.

It would be even greater if you could split the DVI cable, so you don't have to yank it out every time. Is this possible? Are there "Y" cables for this?

are you still able to hold option and select your os with this method? For some reason, I cannot select vista in the osx startup disk, so I can only boot to windows by holding opt. I want to make sure of this before I go this route.
