If you get the chance to pick up the A-Sides CD, do it. Its a great compilation that is definatly worth a listen if you are into grunge rock of the early 90's.

Heck, the whole album (SuperUnknown) is good.

I always found it a bit of a strange tune, which wasn't helped by the even stranger video! Is the song about anything in particular (eg what is a black hole sun?)?

I've always loved this song, along with the rest of Superunknown... other great cuts from this CD: "Fell on Black Days," "Mailman," "Spoonman," "Fresh Tendrils," "4th of July," and "Like Suicide." Landmark album, and one I always come back to.

I've never been that big a soundgarden fan, but I love Black Hole Sun... Great song.

If you get the chance to pick up the A-Sides CD, do it.Last night I wanted to add some new tunage to my library but couldn't think of what I wanted. Now I know! A-Sides looks to ROCK. Black Hole Sun is one of my all time favorites. Chris Cornell's voice can 'peel the paint off a wall'

Soundgraden totally rocks, but for me its all about Audioslave these days. Their new album hits iTunes this Tuesday and it is totally amazing. Chris Cornell is on top of his game with this latest album. Its nice to hear him not depressed for the first time in his career. I just saw Audioslave live last night on Hollywood blvd. actually, amazing performance.

Correct me if someone has heard otherwise but the song was mostly about the apocolypse but with a positive spin on it. Knowing that the video makes alot more sense.
God my spelling sucks. :(

chris cornell is the vox god as far as i'm concerned.
his solo album, "euphoria morning", is one of my all-time fav's. i've enjoyed it much more than the soundgarden stuff. hardly made a blip on the radar when it was released though...which is sad because its excellent.
audioslave rocks though i think the songwriting is a little weak considering the talent of the band. and i love tom morello's guitar playing...its not fancy, you'll never hear him do a solo of gnat-notes...it just has a certain passion and uniqueness that is missing in most players these days.

You know, if I was stuck in a carrier, I'd be depressed too! :)
