Wow, I just looked at the birthdays, and everyone on this site is turning like 25, 30, 35 etc. I feel like the youngest person here. Anyone else 14?

Macco
Oct 26, 2003, 12:22 PM
yup I am

edit - Panther, how can you have 44 posts if you've only been on the forums 3 days?

Panther Blue
Oct 26, 2003, 12:29 PM
It's not too hard, but i'm trying my best to keep them relevant. i didn't realize i had that many posts... wow.

I bet a lot I'm younger than you.

I'm 14, but I just turned 14 9 days ago.

But we're not the only ones. ubergeek, macaztec... both 14. And there are plenty of teenagers, even in the top of posts.

Tazo, for example, is 15...

tazo has just informed me he's actually 16. my apologies...

But still - to have posted 44 times in the first two days you visited this site... it's taken me 132 days to post 85 times (although you can't really count the first 90 days or so, since I didn't visit the site much). Anyway, your 17.62 posts per day means that, assuming you sleep (a big assumption on these forums) and eat, you posted more than once per hour. And I'd imagine that that's pretty unusual for someone who first signed up for an account three days ago.

It's certainly easily possible. Look at Mr. Anderson. He sometimes goes days without posting, yet he has like 20 a day..

And on some other forums I'm on, the top poster has over 60 a day. I've posted 100 times in a day once. It's not hard.

I'm not saying that it isn't possible, I'm just saying that it's probably unusual for someone so new to the forums to have posted so much already.

Then again, maybe not.

I turned 16 in april.

Overall - I think there are a lot of younger people on this site, but not too many. I think young people add a perspective to this site which is benificial to everyone.

Too many young people (ie BlizzForums (www.blizzforums.com)) makes for arguments, immaturity, and overall stupidity.

No, but I agree. The posts I have seen from Panther have been just fine.

And you notice how he tried to cut off the post count discussion and get back on the topic of this thread?

This one's got potential, I'd say. That and an incredible amount of free time on his hands.

no prob, man. Well, Arn's certainly not 100...YET. But by the time he's done with his residency, he probably will be.

It would be great, though, if there were some guy on the forums who was 100. Especially if he were always trying to outdo the youngsters with his tech gear.

Youngster: "Yeah, I just bought a Dual 2 GHz G5."
100-year-old: "Yeah, I just built a supercomputer with a 1000 of them. Hehehe, retirement funds R0X0RZ!"

Wow, what a coincidence! But we never have to celebrate the day alone, because we always have our proud veterans with whom to share it!

Enjoy HS while you can, it's so relaxed compared to the college life. But 3d anim sounds cools, good luck w/that!

There seems to be alot of diversity in age here at MR. I'm also 14 I (as of April 12), and I'm sure there are younger, older and much older. Pretty cool to see how opinions can differ from person to person. Plus there are some interesting discussions to read, etc. I am also a fishy in honors classes.

I agree, I love the intelletual diversity as well, and it's a lot of fun. This was just an observation I made. What would you say the average age on this site is? I'd say about 23 to 27 from what i can see....

That type of posting wasn't unusual for me. I was addicted to Macrumors when I first signed up (I had 90 posts in 2 days). I had an old account, and Arn added those posts to CaptainUnderpants; Add on top of that all of my new posts and I was up to 50 posts per day at one point.... Even if you contribute, you don't get an avatar. Just a Demi-God status and permission to post in the private section of the site. By the way, I don't think a specific thread ONLY has to be about the topic it was originally intended for... Just look at the Have you ever been drunk? (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6144&highlight=drunk+while+posting) thread.
Edit: Sorry. Me and Rower posted a mere minute apart.

I didn't take any foreign languages. Have found out since that it's important to have a full understanding of the English language first. The grammer understanding is critical. Since I'm a nurse and medicine is based on Latin, so by necessity have picked it up.
