I am just wanting some opinions on what p&s camera people recommend for the more than casual photographer.

I ask because I don't have the time to do photography like I used to anymore due to school and work schedule, but I would still like something that allows much of the control that a dSLR would minus the lenses.

This p&s would replace my Pentax K10D which I am trying to sell (link in signature...shameless plug, but look at it ) since I have been mainly using it as a bulky p&s the past couple months hoping I would find the time again.

Thanks in advance.

I recently picked up a G9 and love it. My biggest complaint with most P&Ss is shutter delay/lag, and the G9 is pretty good on that score. It also shoots in RAW. It is bigger than many cameras -- about twice as big, I estimate, as my wife's SD1000. But, it is still small enough that I carry it around a lot.

I had an S1 IS for a while, this (http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=144&modelid=15672) replaced it so naturally I recommend it to you.
