When I set up my server I used as a server name doctorunix and domainwarmachine

now I cant change the compueter name in terminal, I achieve to change the computer name for network so my server is now warmachine.local (this is ok)

But my terminal is still using doctorunix as computername(only for the prompt, network is ok).

Can anyone helpme on how to solve this??

You'll find it's not just the prompts. A lot of your components will be still using your old name internally. I've run into a similar issue. We were replacing an old server (10.4 that was too old to take 10.5) so had to set up the name differently. When we tried to change the name, everything got screwed up. I had to completely recreate LDAP to get it on the new name (luckily import/export exists...but still). However, to this day Software Update Server, iCal Server, and a number of other tools still reference the old server name internally, and won't work if I kill the DNS forwarder for the old name.

If anyone knows a way to fix this?...

Okay

Depending on the type of server you have this will do the trick.

Use changeip in terminal which will resolve the issue just follow the steps :)

If you are using a local machine try hostname :)
