PB G4 1.33Ghz with dead ? CD/DVD drive

I have tried every trick in the book, every command etc. but the drive will not accept a CD, No there is not a CD already in the drive. The machine does see the drive under system profiler - disc burning option.

I have tried every thing 🙁 all the tricks buttons etc.. firmware boot - itunes etc. mouse left click etc. etc..

Any ideas ? is it just plain old dead ?
 
Yeah I think its dead, I wonder if I can replace it my self ? I installed ram in my Mini so it cant be any worst then trying to open a Mac Mini 😱
