So the max bit rate is 5mb/s for .264 video regardless if its HD or SD correct?

I'm just wondering what bit rate the HD movies that are coming off of the itunes rental store is.

In time I'm going to start converting video from my HD movie collection and I'm just wondering at what bit rate I should rip them at.
 
From the apple site:

Up to 5 Mbps.... (maximum resolution: 1280 by 720 pixels at 24 fps, 960 by 540 pixels at 30 fps)......
