Can AT&T see you have an Unlocked iPhone?

I was wondering that if you unlock your iPhone, will AT&T be able to see that I am using an iPhone and then discontinue my IRU Discount?
 
They'll be able to see that you have iPhone (IMEI number?), but I doubt they'll actually do anything.
 
Well I hope they won't, because if they do, then my discount will be gone. And that will not be a good day when I get my bill.
