Air with bigger monitor?

Has anyone run a 20 or 23" display with the Air? Ok? Closed or open case? Wireless keyboard and mouse, too?

And, general impressions about running photo programs like PS, Elements, Aperture (not video, I think I know the answer to that, but correct me...).

In other words, where does the Air hit the wall for reasonably fast digital photo work? 1.6 or is 1.8 really a difference maker for this?

I have a chance at a cheap Apple 20" alum monitor. If the Air can really handle moderate photo work and run a big screen well, that would give me a nice set-up to be sure.

when at home I use the air (1.6/80) with a 23" ACD

wired mouse and keyboard connected through the ACD's usb port

lately I've been working in photoshop CS3 with a few high resolution scans (200megapixels and up to 600megabytes) and air handles them without any problems: photograph full screen on the ACD, photoshop menus tools and palettes on the air's display. a joy to use

btw I always keep the air's lid open to help heat dissipation, even if I'm working using only the ACD
