Hmm... is anyone familiar with this? How viable of an alternative is this to Parallels and VMWare?

I used the first beta and possibly the second. It is a usable application although the ease of use is nothing compared to how easy it is to use Parallels and VMWare. Virtual Box, as far as configuring file sharing and USB is much more complicated. It's not so complicated that you can't figure it out but unless you use things like the command line or have a huge knowledge of computers you're probably are going to be reading parts of the manual more than twice. However, the actual running of windows seemed to be on a very good performance level and the initial creation of the VM was quite easy.

I'm using beta 3 and it has been great so far.
Installing XP was really simple and it runs fine.
I can't comment on file sharing and the like tho' as I havn't had need to do that yet.

Edit: This is still beta software though so I wouldn't use it for 'production' systems just yet.
