I did do a search to see if this had been posted already and couldn't find anything, but apologies if I just didn't try hard enough and it's out there :)

Found this article (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7254078.stm) on the BBC website today and thought it was worth sharing - basically some company has designed a headset that measures electrical activity in your brain and translates it to actions in a game. For example it is able to read certain emotions and use that input to control the emotion shown by your avatar.

The video that's linked to in the article is worth checking out too - it demonstrates a guy lifting an in-game object by imagining it.

Pretty cool stuff, goes on sale later this year it seems! Maybe in a couple of years the Wiimote will look like a really crude way to control your character...

wow, amazing to think this stuff will be on sale soon!

this always seems to be 'the stuff of the future!' - and now it seems that little bit of future is soon to be here.

5 years ago, I would have stared in awe at a wiimote. Now I've got a wii, all four remotes and nunchuks, and about 10 games. Woot for the future!

Is this the same video? I don't have a windows media converter yet. Seems pretty...well...not so great.

This could be a hit for casual gamers, especially on HTPC, I imagine it would be pretty comfortable and relaxing to just kick back and relax while you play tetris using nothing but your mind.

While the concept is cool and the technology is impressive, it still needs a LOT of work before it can be adopted into regular gaming effectively.
