Sundance Review: Joe Strummer: The Future is Unwritten
Any fan of Joe Strummer should also check out "Let's Rock Again" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0415935/, which I saw at the Tribeca Film Festival a year or so after he died. It was a great tribute to the man and his outstanding solo work. Rather sad, too, such as when he's trying to get some crummy Jersey radio station to play his latest album.

R.I.P. Joe.

All three Mescaleros albums were my daily commute music for months around the time of his death.

Yes strummer was amazing, im just only 25 years old for now and all the best performance of joe strummer in the Clash in the past i did not watch it all, but im a big fan of joe strummer until his death. Joe Strummer remained sincere and passionate. He fought, always, against the injustices of the world, and strove to push himself forward artistically. But he will be remembered above all for the band that was loved by so many “the last gang in town”, The Clash and rightly so. He will be sorely missed, but his music will continue to inspire. what is your best album and best music from the clash?
Just check this one a tribute of joe strummer (London calling 2003) A fitting tribute to Joe. Every time I watch this clip, it makes me remember him fondly instead of being sad that he's gone.

I've been getting heavily into the Clash these past few months, so after I exhausted their catalog, I decided to buy some of Joe Strummer's later stuff. As soon as I put Global a Go-Go in and heard "Johnny Appleseed" for the first time, I started smiling. I can't get over how much I love the entire thing. As the last record Strummer completed before his exit, it's a great way to bow out funky, groovy, and joyous (especially the first four tracks) and a celebration of the world and all its weird varieties. This CD just plain makes me happy. Besides having the all-time best voice in rock n' roll, Joe Strummer could really turn a phrase and he's working in top form here. In the title song he gives some great shout-outs to fellow artists while the Mescaleros create music that's relaxed and rocking. how about you what is your favorite album from Mescaleros?
