Video editing programs?

I found out there is no effects at all with imovie 08,what would be a good video editing program with good effects that would work well with my imac?
Not looking to spend a fortune.($0.00-$200.00)

Final Cut Express is $199 - and pretty good... i can't think of any other cheaper ones that are good.

You can download iMovie06 for free from Apple. Search on www.apple.com for imovie HD download, or check the Apple discussion boards (discussion.apple.com) in the iMovie08 section. There are plenty of pointers.

imovie 08 is a fantastic little movie clip editor, it is not a robust full movie editor w/timeline, etc. Grab 06 for free, and you'll be ready to roll.
