Would a new graphics card help?

Hello Mac Geniuses,

I have a g5 2.3 with an ATI 9600 128 graphics card. (8gb ram)

Would a new graphics card help at all - I do alot of photoshop and final cut.

If so - which one?

That won't make any difference with Photoshop. The card you've already got in there is plenty good enough for most applications.

What problems are you having exactly?

I don't have any problems per se - I just thought it might help to upgrade!

You won't see or do anything new with a better card.

You might want to consider a RAID array for scratch / capture disk.

But don't put permanent data on RAID (unless it's Raid 5 or another type of failure resistant raid).

Graphics card only matters for 3d rendering, etc. A newer card has no impact on photoshop speed.
