I have seen people record their computer screen. I was wondering what program will do that for me the best. I am looking for a free program. I have a mac book pro. 2gb ram. Any other specs you might need just ask.
thanks

The best app I have used so far is ScreenFlow. It is very powerful. I think it is shareware

+1. I'm still using Jing because I'm on Tiger, but ScreenFlow looks amazing.

Screenflow looks a bit pricey.
Jing is free, but is limited in the way it saves and renders your footage (.swf)
The only free app that does normal video is Copernicus.

snapz pro is a great tool for this as well. not free and i can't imagine a free sw for this job. it's probably not easy programming to record a screen into videos.
snapz is very easy to use as well with many output options.

wow. that screenflow does look sweet. i'd look into that one. in watching most of the aperture tutorials, i would bet apple is using screenflow or something close to it.

+1 for iShowU. I don't know about the other applications but I like how you can resize the capture window.

Hi, folks, hoping to connect with some ScreenFlow users here. Great program, but there seem to be issues.
I am having problems with visual artifacts on Callout actions, both Mouse Cursor Highlight with midrange opacity and higher (40% and up), as well as zoom. The movies look fine in ScreenFlow; but when exported they show these awful artifacts when played in any other program; and also the frame rate drops to 10fps during the mouse cursor Callout Action section.
Anyone else seeing this? Thanks.

Screenflow sounds pretty good to me, I wouldn't mind using up some space for it as I have to record stuff for movie projects, but I can always use Hypercam on my Vista which works perfectly and is really clear (I got full version, registered), I also tried Snapz pro x, its not that good, as it is has limited features and a bit complicating to use. Screenflow it is for me then!!
