I'm trying to decide between the Yamaha NP-30 and the M-Audio Prokeys 88sx. The 88sx's lack of speakers is a non-issue, I usually use headphones. The NP-30's fewer keys shouldn't be a problem since Yamaha has octave settings. So it boils down to what the 88sx offers over the NP-30 (given that the M-Audio costs nearly $100 more than the Yamaha). I don't know much about keyboard actions; my family has never actually owned an actual piano as we have have a Technics digital piano. I'm willing to broaden my scope of consideration, but I'm capping my budget at $500 and would prefer something compact and lightweight so I can store it in a dorm room easily.
