Went out to get the paper, and this is the sunrise that greeted me. Taken in the northwest Phoenix, AZ area.
No editing whatsoever, other than to reduce the filesize to fit (originally a 7.1MB RAW image).

Amazing... How long after the "official" sunrise?

Looks like I beat it by 3 minutes. Actual sunrise was 7:03 am MST, EXIF data shows 7:00 am MST. It looks somewhat post-sunrise to me as well, I must've gotten reflections from the bottoms of the clouds in the distance. That, or just over-saturated in that region.

Wow! That is pretty amazing... It was cold and hazy out this morning here. :( The sun is hidden by the clouds, atm.

My dad used to live in Ahwatukee (sp?) and now lives in Chandler. I'd move to Arizona so damned fast it'd give you whiplash. :)
Nice shot, btw. You should submit it to www.macdesktops.com.

Canon XT/350D, 18-55 kit lens. I was in a hurry and still half-asleep, not to mention still in my jammies. Didn't think too much about which lens to grab. The 50mm/2.8 would've been a better choice.
