iphone and usb 1.1 on 900mhz g3 ibook

Can anyone tell me if the iphone will work with usb 1.1? The box says usb 2 is required. Is that true? Will it not work at all with 1.1? I'm hoping it will work, and just be slow.
 
I was wondering about this a while ago and was re-assurred by someone over at Hackintosh who was using and jailbroke a 1.1.2 iPhone using USB 1.1.

The problem I then faced though was that my G4 imac is running 10.3.9 and the iPhone requires 10.4 (I think).

it'll work with 1.1 no problem, upload/download speeds will be painful though.

make sure you have at least 10.4 as itunes 7.6 is required for new phones.

time for a new computer anyway instead of an iPhone
