hey guys.

i'm having a weird problem with one of my drives. when i go to delete something, it gives me a "this file will be deleted immediately" dialog box, instead of putting the files into the trash. i understand this happens when you're working off a server, but this drive is local!!

i have four drives in my mac pro, only this drive has this problem. all other drives drop stuff into the trash. what's going on here and how do i fix it?

Sounds like a permission problem, try repairing them. Or there is not enough free space on the drive.

in the finder go to Preferences, i think there's an option there where you can turn that dialog box on and off.

hmmm, i'll give that a shot. definitely not the free space - there's like 100/200 gb free on the drive.

can't repair permissions - i didn't install mac os x on this drive.

i did a repair disk, no errors...

any other ideas?
