I'm trying to get both our macs to share files but I couldn't find any solution to my simple need. After I connected my profile with the other mac on my "finder"; my finder shows empty even though I put files into the public folder or shared folder on the other mac but I couldn't see any of those files on my mac. Is there something I am missing? Please help, Thanks

You might have already tried this, but you didn't specify.

Make sure that File Sharing is enabled on your Mac where the files are shared. Go to Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> Sharing and check the File Sharing service in the left column.

Post if that solves your problem. 🙂

Thanks for your reply. The File Sharing service is checked but still I couldn't see any of the files in the Public Folder or Shared Folder.

Have you connected your mac to the other mac acting as a server?

You can do so using the connect to server command in the go menu.
