When is Apple going to introduce a keyboard or deskpad to add multi-touch to Mac Pros, iMacs, Minis and docked earlier laptops? Seems like a no-brainer.

There'd need to be a paradigm shift for that to ever happen. Multitouch for an iMac... CRAZY TALK!

Ummm...why is a MacBook Pro such a paradigm shift from an iMac?

Why? A little touchpad on the desk or on a keyboard doesn't require a new paradigm. The drivers and extensions are already in OS X and a number of apps. All we need is what is pretty simple hardware. I'd like to have a touchpad on my desk attached to my Mac Pro (along with my mouse and keyboard).

I agree with netdog. A touchpad would be great for certain tasks, like a tablet, only with your finger instead of a stylus.
