Shhh...

This might be a secret...

http://store.apple.com/800-908-988/WebObjects/hongkongstore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=7FBFC041&fnode=home/shop_mac/mac_accessories/airport_wireless&nplm=MB321ZP/A

Only available from Hong Kong store, with no product picture. I'm ordering one now. I need one for AirTunes anyways so I don't care about 802.11n, but this would be a welcomed feature.

(Note the part number MB321ZP/A, and I can't find the counterpart in the US store MB321LL[/A].)

PS: A screenshot for all of you, plus the original description. ;)

AirPort Express
Connect. Print. Listen. Wirelessly.
The new AirPort Express with 802.11n and AirTunes is the perfect way to set up a high-speed Wi-Fi network based on the latest 802.11n Wi-Fi specification.1 It allows you to share both a broadband Internet connection for up to 10 users and a USB printer. It also allows you to stream iTunes music over your wireless network to a set of powered speakers connected to your AirPort Express.

Apple called, and they were like. "Oh, our store was under maintenance. The product you ordered has an error and thus we canceled your order. Sorry about that."

Hm........ Interesting. Oh well :p

Well, I had nothing to lose anyways, I need an AirPort Express anyways and as it seems like it costs the same, why not? :p

But it could hint at its release date... next Tuesday? :D

I agree that the Airport Express has a refresh coming soon. Here's what I noticed:

a) store.apple.com is showing 1-2 weeks for shipping
b) bestbuy.com is no longer listing the Airport Express
c) Not in stock at Amazon.com or macconnection.com

I hope they add support for external usb harddrives. I'd love another one of these.

This update seems inevitable, so I hope this is a sign that it's imminent. Thanks for the tip. I've been holding out for an N update to the Express.

Why isn't this on the front page? Seems like a good tip.

Refurbs are going for only 29$, very low compared to original price...

This sign has 2 sides. Typically when the shipping for an item exceeds 24-48hrs (especially for small things like this) it can usually mean a newer version is coming and they're bleeding out the older ones and rather than take it off the site, the shipping time is exceeded to coincide with the arrival of the newer item (with some padding for manufacturing and stocking).

BUT this can also mean phasing out.

Let's hope the latter isn't true and they are updating the product.

Just went to buy the Airport Express at two different Apple stores in Los Angeles, and neither one had them in stock.

I then went online and saw that there is a one to two week shipping time.

I hope this is leaning toward a release of the Aiport express with N capabilities.

That is the Airport Extreme card, and it has been at that price for almost 18 months.

I should be getting my new MBP this coming week, as I just ordered. I am hoping the new Express comes out this Tuesday or the following. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Gosh I have been waiting for a 11n Express since January!! I always thought that they had 11n in 2007.

Really hope to see it soon this Tuesday... I have been told that 11g is enough to stream music... but like, don't people realise the Express is also a nice way to add wireless to an existing wired network? That's exactly what I wanted to do!!

I was just on the Apple Store website for Switzerland... They also list the Airport Express as 802.11n... They list shipping time as "1-2 weeks"

Will Apple announce this officially tomorrow? I hope so, I need this...

If all we had to go on was lack of availability, then sure, phase out is possible.

But there's *new* text with *new* features--why would anyone have created that (and then prematurely posted it) for a phase-out product?

Staples in Canada has been blowing out the old 11g for $49 for the past month or so....
