Epson Stylus Photo R320 Ink Levels

Hi.
I have the above printer connected to my iMac and it has been working flawlessly for months.
I have one issue though.
When the printer is running low on ink, the maintenance light blinks, indicating low levels.
But, it doesnt tell what ink cartridge is low, and since i dot want to go all out and change them all, i need to know how to view levels.

On my Mac, it only says information not available for supply levels, and as far as I know, there is no way to check on the printer itself.

So my question is this:

Does anybody know how to view the ink levels, either on the printer or my iMac?

You should have Epson Printer Utility somewhere in the Applications folder. That will give you levels and cleaning and alignment utiities.

I will tell you this, plan on buying them all.

I have the 330 and when it tells me one is low and needs to be replaced, I change it, it primes and then tells me the next one is low.

When one dies, I just buy them all knowing it will save me a trip back to BB to buy more ink.

The only upside it, buy the time one dies, the others are not far behind so I dont feel so bad.

Sorry.
But its a no go.

Ive downloaded the Print Utility from Epson's website multiple times, and installed it, yet there is nothing to speak of it on my iMac.

Ive searched through spotlight and my applications folder.
It is absent.
Any other ideas?

Its there ... just hidden really really well hidden

On my mac its under /Library/Printers/Epson/InkJetPrinter/Utilities/

Another way to get to it is through the System Prefrences->Print&Fax->Highlight your printer->Open Print Que->Printer (In top Menu)->Printer Utility->Then click the EPSON StatusMonitor button

I go to the printer menu and "Print Utility" is the only option that is grayed out. It's not working. I'm still searching for the solution.

I have the Epson Printer Utility 2. A 'Printer List' shows up but my printer does not appear in said list. There are no preferences to speak of.

Any ideas?

If you are not printing color often, I highly recommend getting a cheap laser printer.

I got my parents a Brother 2140 for Christmas, and they are still thanking me. I picked it on Sale for $60. They got over 1000 prints from the first cartridge which was not even full. I set it up to work wirelessly through an Airport base station. No problems whatsoever so far, and it only cost $15 more than one set up replacement inks for their old HP. Replacement Cartridges are pricey for laser printers, but you get 2000+ printed pages and you don't have to replace them often, or worry about ink clogging for which Epson printers are infamous.
