Two armed robbers who targeted a Sydney bar that was hosting a bikers' meeting must have "failed robber school", said the club's chairman.

The men stormed the bar brandishing machetes and wearing balaclavas - unaware that 50 bikers were holding a meeting in an adjoining room.

Alerted to the robbery, some of the bikers chased the men as they fled.

One was caught after trying to escape through a back door. He was later treated in hospital for minor injuries.BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/7268653.stm).

Some people are just not very bright.

Also it was mentioned the place was robbed about 10 times in a year. WTF? Have they not thought of any security systems?

So I guess the location's owners and the crooks are both not very bright.

The bar's security systems are only there once a month for meetings.

Anyone remember the show Turks? They all went to one bar, and some guys showed up intending to rob it.

I couldn't stop laughing when I heard it :cool:

I live in Sydney so this has been plastered all over the news, apparently the one that was caught had a bone or two broken and was "hog tied" for the police (how thoughtful).

Either way these guys deserve a Darwin Awards.

Actually they do have surveillance video, too bad the hog tying wasn't shown...

I saw this on the CNN site earlier. So funny. I love the way the bikers pick up chairs on the way through the bar to smack the robbers with :D

By the looks of the scooter pic in the article, they probably thought it was a bunch of cruising oldsters.

The better story was the poor robber who attempted to rob a bank that just happened to be across the street from an FBI office in Washington DC. Even worse he robbed it on what was the FBI's payday. Dozens of FBI agents were in the bank
