Can a stoke be combined with its object?

Hi People,

I've designed a logo in Illustrator on which all the letters have strokes. But one letter, a lower case "e" (all the rest are capitals) required heavier stroking to match the others. My question is, is it possible to combine the letter and the stroke on each character to create a single outline, so that they have no stroke and produce a clean vector art file?

Convert to Outlines.

Object>Path>Outline Stroke

Then ungroup.

Then select all the pieces and Pathfinder>Add to shape layer.

Expand.
