Need some help with deleting stuff

I tried to install Final Cut Studio, twice, and both times, I canceled out because I had to.

There were app icons in my folder, so I deleted those. But even with deleting those, my hard drive space is down to 30 gb. It should be around 60...

Deleting the apps did nothing to free my space, so what do I need to delete...?

Have you emptied the trash? If your deleted files are in there the space won't be reclaimed until you empty that.
 
the apps in the apps folder take under a gigabyte of space..

you need to look for the library files. unfortunately i changed my folders on my MBP but seem to remember most of the space being in /Library/Application Support/

Grab a copy of Whatsize and it'll tell you exactly where they are - seeing as if you installed the full libraries, you're talking 30Gb+ of files...

fired up the iMac, which has a default install.

the folders you need to just delete are:

hard drive / Library / Application Support / Final Cut Studio (16.2Gb)
hard drive / Library / Application Support / LiveType (10.9Gb)
hard drive / Library / Application Support / Final Cut Pro System Support (127mb)
hard drive / Library / Application Support / ProApps (8.31mb)
hard drive / Library / Application Support / Soundtrack Pro (4.32mb)
hard drive / Library / Application Support / Apple Qmaster (1.23mb)
hard drive / Library / Audio (24.3Gb)

note: this is for FCS2
