Are Mac and PC games region free?

Just curious whether or not Mac games and PC games follow the same region rules as DVD's and console games, or if they are region-free. Do you know?

All computer software, including games are region free, i.e. I could buy a Mac game in Germany and play it on the computer I bought in the States.
