I realized that I had a warped mbp but i had cut out the bar code for the rebate. It is still within the 14 day return policy but, do you guys think that the cut out will affect the return or exchange.

I wouldn't volunteer that information when you try to return it; if they accept it, cool. If they notice the missing UPC, you might be SOL.

return = can't do it
Exchange = No problem, if you bought from retailer other than apple, you will have to call apple and have them send you the replacement though.

should i even worry about asking them to look at the gap on the left edge or should I just exchange it for another and if that is the same then just get the mb

Take a pic... what is warped is it the bottom case from the topcase, or the screen?
sometimes you can loosen the side screws and press the top case down good and tighten, to make it better.

You didn't have to cut out the bar code, not during the first 14 days. I never send any rebate material back until I've made sure the stuff works and I'm out of the X day return window. Why rush? Well, you just learned why not to.

Just check it out before you leave the store. It's your right anyway, but especially under these circumstances.

omg.
LOL
after looking at that pic, i think you should replace it and get a new one with a REAL defect, so you can understand what "being a p|_|ssy" means.

huh??why? but why?
you'll be disappooooointed with the MB...
not that's it bad... for me it's still the BEST value for money..
going back to you, you'll miss the 15.4 screen, the backlite keyboard, the graphics card and the ALuminum.
think about it first, do you really want to downgrade?

Get a MBP if you want/need it. My MBP on the front left is higher than the right, but I have it open so much that I don't even notice anymore and it doesn't bother me. Depending on how bad it is it can't hurt to try and exchange it. But don't settle for a MB if you want a MBP.

The lid warping seems to be a common thing with MBPs. Mine has it, and I don't care.

ha ha ha!
expect more when you go to MED school!:D
its not lid warping or anything of that sort... its just that the latch closes tight in the middle and since the sides dont have any sort of latch to close them, they are raised a bit higher than the middle..
