Hey Guys!

I may be interested in selling my 12" Powerbook G4:

12" Powerbook G4 1 Ghz
768 MB RAM (upgraded)
60 GB HD (upgraded)
Bluetooth (upgraded)
Airport Extreme (upgraded)
32 MB Video Card

What do you guys think it's worth? It's in EXCELLENT condition. Battery life is still pretty good. I might be interested in trading for a newer Macbook or maybe even a Mac Mini (has to be an Intel Mac mini).

Let me know!

For the specs the OP listed, $400 would be around a good price on a good day. the 1.2s and 1.33s go for up and around $600 with better specs, like a bigger hdd and more memory. Also a super drive adds to the value as well.

What optical drive comes with OPs ibook?

If I had $600 I'd pay it for that specific machine. I loved my 12" Powerbook. I actually had more appreciation of that machine for its "IT JUST WORKS" uniqueness and extreme portability vs. power.

I mean, that thing will do everything these core2duo machines are running besides run windows and run the most modern video games too well at high graphic settings, etc. Basic/Professional apple applications whether its photography editing or video or simply graphics and text, that powerbook will cut right through it all.

it's a powerbook :) the combo drive specs are (according to everymac.com):

reading DVD at 8X, writing CD-R at 24X, writing CD-RW at 10X, and reading CD-ROM at 24X.

I agree, 600 is way too high for this. Mac2Sell quotes it at $460 but that's more of an eBay price.

max ram is 1.25 GB. not sure on the HD... it's a 4200 RPM drive.

i'd be open to shipping to the UK!

You'd be surprised the lengths some will go to have these machines. Plus, the 1GHz machines added DVI output and USB 2.0 I believe, making them much more formidable workhorses than their 867MHz Predecessors.

I'd say in my honest opinion I'd pay around 550 for it granted it's in the condition you say it's in, but thats with me not desiring ultra portability. These PowerBooks are still coveted for their size, and with a built in optical it's essentially just a slower, smaller (not thinner) MacBook Air.

Good Luck selling! I be this thing can run Leopard like a champ!

yup, there's dvi output to it and the usb 2.0 ports. as well, these machines have double the on board l2 cache than the 867s... :)

bought in 2003. oh i forgot to mention, i'll include the shinza 12" powerbook sleeve i bought with it (this thing is awesome, absorbs shock like you wouldn't believe). as well, i have a marware keyboard cover & palm-rest cover that i'll include too. some of the pics have that. keeps the machine nice and clean :)
