setting up samba [Archive] - MacRumors Forums

I am interested is setting up samba on a soon to be updated to Panther, G5. I want to share disk space where a small group (20 users), can access personal directories as well as shared group directories. Most useres are on windows machines, but a few are using macs (OS X).

Do I need OS X server to do this? or can I set this up on plain ole' Panther?

You can do it with Panther, but apparently there are known issues @ the moment.
