Ok, I'm getting sick of this, as I'm sure many of you are. I have a MBP 15" with stuff connected to it at home. I have a firewire800 drive for TimeMachine, an AirPort Disk, and sometimes a usb drive. When I take off for school, i just shot the lid and unplug. Well I always get did not disconnect notices later. I know there is a slight risk of damage when you do that. At the same time when i move my laptop around the house, i want it to disconnect local drives but keep the Airport Disk active.

The question, is there a way to get workflow, or some freeware app, to have a icon on the desktop or somewhere easily accessible where I can eject all disks (maybe even quit apps that are using them)?

All you have to do is drag the desktop icons to the trash/eject. It's not that difficult.
