I was watching a movie on my tv last night through my iPod, and it got me thinking "What is the highest audio/video quality that can come out of the headphone jack?" To be honest, I thought it sounded quiet good hooked up to my Dolby Digital surround sound. I'm not expert on this stuff, but it seemed as though the sounds were being distributed to the correct speakers. And although the video quality wasn't perfect, it was definitely better than cable or VHS.
