WTH...I have installed the MBP keyboard firmware update (several times now) via software update...and it keeps showing up as an available update!! What can I do to make the insanity stop?

BTW, I have never been prompted to re-boot after installing the update, if that matters...

Perhaps this may help you:

mmmh 😕, after you used the software update and downloaded the keyboard firmware patch, did you go to the Application -> Utilities folder and actually double clicked in the "Built-in Keyboard Firmware update" app that was installed there?

Cheers! :apple:

You don't have to run it manually, but sometimes it does fail to launch itself, or it launches and you never notice so that you can complete it.

I had the same problem but I was looking for an app called "Keyboard something something..." and not "Built-in Keyboard something something..." and then Fairly Odd Parents returned from commercial break and I forgot all about it . Thanks for the hint!
