Iphone would be about half way drained after 5 hours of usage and a day of standby time. When I put it to sleep and try to wake it up it will go to the screen that shows that it needs to be charged. has anyone else experience this?

i just got the iphone 3 weeks ago brand new. should I return it for another one. cause it pisses me off that it doesn't even give me a warning that its going to die.
I would first suggest that you restore your iPhone through iTunes.
If you continue to experience the same problem, take it to apple because your iPhone may have come with a bad battery

I did do that and it still did the "charge battery" screen after being halfway full with no notice.
update: Iphone is going at 8hrs 40 minutes usage time, and 1 day 7 hours stand by time and its about 3/4 full.
is that a good standard?
thanks. but when the battery got to half full and when i put it to slee then wake it would show the charge battery icon without no notice that the battery was low. could that be a software issue?
