Hi..about to get upgrade to 4 GBs of Ram....opinions please....OWC has Samsung for $149 like it cause I think Apple uses it as OEM...Crucial has same amount for $109. Any preferences here? Thanks

FWIW, when I was ordering RAM Crucial was out of stock, so I went with the OWC Samsung.

Both should be fine-- I've had no problems whatsoever with the Samsung I bought and my new MBP runs like a top!

I got the Crucial memory for mine, and it is running great. Cost about 65 GBP. 70 USD sounds a very nice price though....

For those who have upgraded Ram already...Curious...what was the brand of the Ram that shipped in the MBP Penryn? The ones you took out.

The sticker, and the logo on the chips that I just took out say "Nanya"

I don't know the manufacturer of the actual RAM chips, but the brand that is marketing it is Nanya... same goes for all the previous MBP I exchanged.

Personally don't care, since I swapped in 2x 2GB Crucial chips. 😀
