I am researching the consumer HD video cameras on the market for up to $1000. Unfortunately, the prosumer ones are not in my price range. I have never before worked with HD and I am not really sure about the difference between AVCHD & HDV. Also, it seems that different cameras record files with different extensions.
Is there a difference what type of files creates the camera?
Are some files easier to work with on FCP than others?
In which format the final edited product will have the best quality?
Does the master file always have to be converted into a different type of file in order to be edited?
And in terms of all that, any HD video cameras suggestions? I was looking at Canon HV20 and Canon VIXIA HF-10 AVCHD. Thanks!
