Burn Errors with Dual Layer Burns

Hi, I'm getting an error message when trying to burn a 7GB HD movie file to Maxell DL DVD+R discs using the finder. I get error "0x80020022 The device failed to respond properly, unable to recover or retry." Already made coasters of two discs, does anybody know what's causing this problem.
BTW. I'm running a Penryn 2.5Ghz MBP.
 
Most commonly happens with bad or cheap media. Try different media. FWIW I have burned dual layer discs using Verbatim +R blanks without problems.
