View Full Version : SDK...no way to upload files ?

Well...although I really enjoyed all SDK stuff, there is something
that I would like to ask anyone who already got its beta :
Since iTunes is the way to get third party software,
it seems clear that it will not be possible to save or upload
files into the Touch or iPhone, right ?
Therefore, reading PDF files will still involve the pain of transferring
everything via email...and things like Tiddlywiki will not be able to be
edited or saved. Am I wrong ?
;)

Files can come from other programs. Think about syncing notes with Mail or Photos with Aperture (or iPhoto).

akonradi,
I (and a bunch of other people else who plan to use this device as a PDA
without jailbreaking) would be happy if iTunes were able to manage text or
PDFs (heck, iTunes and Finder are almost identical twins now).
If you have folders for music, videos, and other for images...but none for text ?
Having to transfer stuff through email is not convenient.

I thought that you were asking if it's possible for files to come in through other programs, which is possible. I don't think that iTunes will ever manage non-multimedia files, but there could be a tab in the syncing section to allow document exchange from specified folders.

akonradi,
Well, I just find this from Apple's support site :
> How do I write information locally?
>> You can write to your application's local storage area. You find the path by >> calling the Foundation function NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains.
This looks reaaaaly good
