List of Apps that DO NOT work with FW 1.1.4 [Archive]

I have a 1.1.4 iPhone jailbreak w/ ZiPhone 2.5c. I have run into several apps that do not launch or do not work with 1.1.4. I thought it would be a good idea to make a thread that lists these apps s that 1) People don't download them expecting them to work, 2) devs can be aware of this and fix them for use in 1.1.4, and 3) so if someone lists an app but it does work...someone else that knows how to get that app to work can chime in with instructions:

Here is a list of apps that people have not been able to get to work properly or launch at all:

- Customize (original and custom both don't change the docks nor hide icons so we just have to wait til next week. Spicy Chicken will be releasing a compatible version)
- DragCopy
- FiveDice
- iFlix
- iSMS - doesnt load any SMS you get or send. Must be reading the wrong directory or something
- LightsOff
- Make It Mine
- Summerboard Themes (most don't work, some do....even after "fix" installed)
- Status Style
- Sudoku
- TicTacToe

I'm sure there are many more. so please post below if it's not listed and I'll add it. If I've listed an app that does in fact work on 1.1.4, please let me know so I can edit the post.

I've had no problems with Lights Off, and in reference to the guy above me, I've tried everything possible including Boss' fix and still can't get any SummerBoard themes to work. I've read about a couple others having the same problems, and I've also read about some people not having any problems, so it kinda goes both ways I guess. I'm over trying to fix my SummerBoard, and am now just waiting for a more compatible version to come out.

What's the name of the download? I tried the iSpazio 1.1.4 computability app, but that doesn't work for all of them.

Yes, I have all of those sources listed...but that didn't answer my question of what is the name of the download that fixes the Summerboard THemes.

Does everything on customize original work except for docks and hiding icons? Like does changing charging battery icon and sliders work?

The Lockbox App still doesn't work. It's not really exclusive to 1.1.4 because it has never really worked. But this is the app I want the most (I had it on my Pearl and it's very useful if you don't use the same password for everything). I even emailed the creator and informed him personally and he told me it would be fixed that weekend. That was about three weeks ago and it still does nothing.

You mean they're releasing a new one for 1.1.4? I've always had problems with Customize and I never downloaded it after my upgrade because I was sure it wouldn't work.

Yea. On his website he says he's got the sdk and is gonna go all out. He's also looking for suggestions so hit up thespicychicken.com if you have any requests.

To the author of this thread: it's gotten messy. May I suggest just keeping a list of apps that don't work in your first post. Just keep editing that one when someone adds a new apps that doesnt work.

Here's another one for the list: iSMS - doesnt load any SMS you get or send. Must be reading the wrong directory or something.

Also, add DragCopy to the list. Won't even let you install it, saying it's intended for 1.1.(1.2.3.). Dang, baby!

DragCopy could easily be the most useful program there is (next to tinyproxy). Wireless drag & drop file transfers... ohhhohohhohohh... but I've yet to get it to work on any firmware. :(

Thanks. I've installed that patch. It seems to have so impact, but still doesn't appear to fix everything. At least now, the themes show up as a selection. It still doesn't install them correctly as some of the wallpapers don't show as they should.

Were they installed prior to 1.1.4? If you were to uninstall them, then reinstall....do they still work? Is there anything else that needs to be installed for you to get them to work?

The Lockbox app works for me. I think I used iSpazio's 1.1.4 Compatibility tweak to get it to install.

I've never had a problem getting it to install. It just doesn't store any information when I close it out.

Okay well I just installed it again and it has a different icon so maybe it's been fixed. Having a problem getting into it as it's asking me for a password on my first time opening it. Since I haven't used it how can there be a password? Did it do this to you?

The first time I opened it, it asked me to create a password.

Anyone remembers how to make Terminal app work on 1.1.4? I think it's the same fix as 1.1.3 but I don't remember either the source or name of download I need to add. Let me know. Thanks

Here is my Sboard work-around.

1. Install the theme normally

2. Download the theme to my computer via sFTP (I usually have to do this to clean up some of the icon names to match my apps and "Categories" folders).

3. Uninstall the theme so I don't have duplicate files

4. sFTP the theme to the correct location.

Its a bit of a work around, but I have to massage the themes anyway so no biggie.

I have gotten Summerboard to work with my iPhone 1.1.4 with the SMB fix by doing the following.

1) Install Summerboard
2) Install SMB Fix (Tweaks 1.1.3)
3) Power Off iPhone and power back on

That's it - all themes work perfectly for me. I just wish there was a way to preview all of them before you install

I just wish Make It Mine will be updated - I can't find a way to email or any other means contact the developer.

Firstly i use 1.1.4 and summerboard, lights off, sudoku and "modded customize" (from ipod touched repo) works perfectly on my ipod touch. However i cannot install any of the i-app-a-day applications and any other applications from "Soneso's Repository". I also cannot get the "Categories" app to work on my 1.1.4. Can u please help?

I have not been able to get Fivedice or Sudoku to install via installer, but they worked fine when I installed them manually. (BTW, I backed up my apps to hard disk before upgrading to 1.1.4)

You do realize that if they were installed prior to 1.1.4 then most methods (and the smartest way) to upgrade your phone you have to restore thus deleting EVERYTHING on the iPhone. SO when he went to install them on 1.1.4 it wouldn't be any different than anyone else with 1.1.4 as well

Also, I have 1.1.4 unlocked with iPlus2.0b and I have Make it Mine working just fine and ALSO I never had to install the SummerBoard fix.... not sure WHY but it just worked from the get go. I also don't change my theme. I have it on Icarus with the background and status bar turned off and I am completely satisfied with this. Maybe until I find something else I like
