im looking for a way to make videos from my component RCA game systems, I dont have a budget in excess of $60. im using a macbook so my options are USB and firewire 400. video source is coming from an NES so resolution need only be 640x480 but 1080i and S-video would be cool since my xbox does 1080i & S-video. im looking for anyway i can simply get my video source into my computer for editing, i dont care if it involves a go between like dvds or flash drives just as long as it works, however direct connection is preferred. or a redirection to a similar thread would be helpful.
thanks

I think El Gato's EyeTV should do the trick. Check their website for more info... http://www.elgato.com

If you happen to own a Mini DV camcorder. It will pass the analog vide out the FW connection. Free if you already have it.

Almost any (DV) camcorder will do this. If you don't own one, borrow one.

well I like the DV camera solution and the eyetv solution but own neither, someone should clue me into what "DV" stands for, i am considering getting a camera for high speed video capture, and slow motion. so i think i might go that route although tivo ability is tempting, im very suprised that TV tuners arent built into computers, i would have expected that long before wifi or bluetooth. anyway if anyone has buying tips for selecting a slow motion camera or would like to discus whether eyetv or a DV camera is a better solution. i hereby expand this thread to serve those purposes aswell. thank you everyone for your help thus far

sincerely
