I love Dell monitors. I have a 2407WFP which I use for both my Mac and my gaming consoles. The quality is pretty much on par with the Apple displays and on certain models you have all sorts of inputs like HDMI and Component. Good purchase!

I think that's just BS you make up they don't use apples rejects, Don't make up crap like that. How is the build quality worse do you own one? Because if do not don't talk. I used to use Vegas, before switching over to Mac's. I liked it too, but haven't done enough side by side comparisons to know if my productivity was faster with one or the other. Glad we have options. :)

Are you in the US? My roommate found a few HD channels without even having a cable hooked up to his new HDTV. A few of the big networks out of Salt Lake City broadcast in HD and we pick it up 80 miles away. I wonder if that may be the case with you?

Good job. Every little bit helps. I've had the same CFL bulbs for 4 or 5 years. When I move, I put the original incandescents back in the fixtures.

It will be nice when LEDs get to the quality and price of the CFL bulbs, since it's another factor of 5 or so in savings (wattage wise).

Since I've switched to CFLs, and use my Mini almost exclusively, I've dropped my electricity bill to under $18.00 a month.

When I buy a house again it will go down, since I will have control over the appliances. The ones in my apartment are not efficient at all.

Isn't it funny how you bashed on Dell's monitors but yet you used their displays? Not 1, 2 but it seems like you have used a lot of Dell's monitors. How ironic is that? Dell's ultrasharp monitors are superior over ACD, except for the design part. Only apple fan boys would pay that much for an ACD.

I managed to get it for $52 about a month ago and it finally arrived and is in really good shape. Is there any reason it went out of print? It says on amazon the paperback was published in 2001.

Mine had minor damage to the top corner, like it had been dropped. The front cover was also coming unglued. I glued part of the front cover back to the rest of the book. Other than that it was in decent shape. Is yours hard to remove from the red plastic sleeve? I have the hardest time getting it out! I'm not sure why it went out of print though. It's a nice book. My only guess is because Sagmeister came out with his new book? Glad to hear you are enjoying it.

Well we have decided just to paint the wall with a fresh coat of white paint. It's really just because the boiler is white and on that wall, we can't paint the boiler so it would look strange with a random white box in the corner.

To tell you the truth I am not saving any space because I used to have all 3 drives standing up side by side and it is literally the same width now as before.... Just looks a little cooler and much easier to transport if I need to bring them somewhere. I was actually surprised by how heavy all 3 drives were together. Hope this info helps you, the rack is purely for looks I could have down without it. The other surprsing thing is that it took me close to 3 months to get this bad boy since every time I went to Lacie's website it was out of stock and could not find an alternative to purchase it elsewhere.

True that, no disrespect by the previous post - just playing. I know what you mean though about the distance and liking to have a few extra feet. It can make a big difference + the length the cables come in never really work for the situation. You always find yourself searching for a cable and it ends up being the exact length you need or 10' too long. Doh!! :mad:

Not a bad car but I had to get rid of the new 2004 LS Sport Cavalier I had after just a year. It had become a rattle bucket. Mine was orange. I traded it for a 06 Cobalt SS Supercharged. Much happier with that car.

The 30" feels thicker than the iMac...and the iMac has it's guts behind it. I have my 30" sitting next to me waiting for my Mac Pro to come (tomorrow) and it's a pretty thick display, which is something I also noticed in the Apple Store.

Friggin heavy for a display too...I had to buy an extra leg to mount under the center of my desk to keep it from bowing under the pressure.

It'll definitely be a huge improvement though. I've had more trouble with my 24" C2D than I had with my original intel 20" CD iMac. This thing gets in fits where if one program hangs, it refuses to force quit and then goes on causing other programs to hang -- thus forcing me to do a hard restart. Extremely annoying. My 20" iMac was flawless, this 24" is just sexier. 20" had more HDD space also, this one is struggling with it's 320GB.

Here's to hoping our Pros are flawless. Cheers :)

Oddly enough, I just saw one yesterday while driving to work. (in Santa Clara, CA) Looked like it needed a good cleaning.

It's weird seeing a car with such a low roof-line coming towards you in the opposite lane of traffic. Took me a few seconds before I realized what model of car it was.

I have never seen one before, I guess they are way more rare in the UK.

Just got it off ebay..expect it to arrive on saturday. Paid $320.00 new, S/H included. Amazon has it now at $360.00. I remember when it first came out a year ago at $400 and I knew I wanted one but couldn't see paying more than $300 for it. I guess after years of reading off my computer and this year off my macbook, I was ready to drop the money for the thing. If Apple makes a reader this year I will be pissed. Steve did say that he didn't believe enough people read anymore (bulls**t) but who knows. And yes, the Kindle is ugly.
