I recently installed cydia onto my 1.1.4 jailbroken iphone. After a week or so I never found myself using it. I went to installer to the uninstall tab, but when I clicked cydia it only allowed me to reinstall and not uninstall. Anyone know how to remove it and all if its contents (I have not downloaded any programs onto the phone from cydia). Thanks so much.

I believe the only way to remove it is through SSH, which i did.

Do you have SSH on your phone already?

Yes I do. What is the password to SSH into the phone on 1.1.4. Is it still root as username and alpine as password?

yes.

just delete it from applications, and then hit CTRL + T, and type killall SpringBoard

sometimes SSH can be flaky- restart your iPhone and if that fails turn install it and uninstall it.

Also if you have a "services" app make sure you have not turned SSH off! and if you don't have a services app get one as leaving SSH on at all times drains the battery more than normal!

Lastly you could always download and use iBrikr to access the file system on the iPhone and delete it without needing SSH!

oh yeah i did this too. i didnt like how it majorly complicated my file structure so i went to uninstall it but you can't. its too complicated of a program. making the install script probably took tons of work, and uninstaller scripts are even more complicated to make, so the devoper didnt make one. which is understandable since cydia is free :P

if you just want it gone from installer, edit the InstalledSources.plist file and remove the entry for Cydia

its in like /var/mobile/library/installer or something like that. sorry i cant get the real directory at this moment

You do know that this thread is almost a year old? I highly doubt that the OP will even care the slightest any more ;)
