Good song for the early 80's. Did it really need to be remade?

I listened to that No Doubt remake of "It's My Life". Their cover doesn't seem to hit the spot for me, but I've never cared for No Doubt that much anyway.

It would be nice it the Talk Talk version was remastered - it sounds just a bit muffled to me.
