Virgin Atlantic laptop power...

Hey!
I will soon be travelling premium economy on a Virgin Atlantic flight. I am looking to use my MBA on the flight. Will the Apple Macbook Airline Adapter work on Virgin Atlantic flights?

"If using the In Seat Power Supply (ISPS), which applies to our Upper Class® and Premium Economy cabins, the laptop battery must be removed before connection to the seat is made. While the battery is removed, it should be placed into a plastic or airsickness bag to protect the battery terminals from touching any metal surface."

Yes. However, you may want to research to see if you're seat will actually have in-seat power.

Wow, try removing your MBA's battery :)
I wonder why is that necessary? It gives off some peaks that would damage the battery?

And in answer to the OP, assuming you do have in-seat power then yes it works fine. I've tried this on seats in Virgin's Upper Class and Premium Economy cabins and never had an issue. I've never been asked to remove my battery either (MBP).

I don't think the battery matters. If you read Apple's page on the adapter it confirms that the airline adapter won't charge the battery anyway, only power the laptop.

Sadly, I don't think the stores actually have the new adapter for the Air. I phoned London Regent St. last week and was told they did (after I specifically asked TWICE if it was for the Air), only to arrive at the store and find that they don't have them and have no idea when they're getting them. The online store also showed 2-3 weeks (as of last week) for availability. :(

Has anyone actually seen them in a retail store yet?
