Ok – so there have been at least three instances where the speaker/receiver hasn’t worked properly on my iPhone. During this time, if I make a call or someone calls me, I can’t hear them and vice versa. However, if I plug in my earphones or push the “speaker” button, then it works fine — however, I don’t want to have to do this every time for my calls when the phone isn’t working right.
I’ve figured out that this seems to happen whenever I answer a call while listening to music, by pressing the mic button on my earbud cord. Something happens where the sound no longer works unless the earphones are plugged in. And eventually, with enough futzing around by sticking the earphones in and out, I can get the phone working normally again — but it’s becoming a huge pain every time this happens.
Has this happened with anyone else?
Also, does anyone know if this issue means I could get my iPhone replaced? I bought it Jan 15th, but didn’t get AppleCare. I’m also worried that if I take my phone to a Genius at an Apple store, that it will most-likely be working ok AT THE TIME, and therefore they won’t do anything about it.
