Hey,

I said earlier I was going to replace my Avatar and here it is, it combines my 3 favourite things: Apple, SciFi (and SitCom) and F1.

Some how I need to combine a Badminton shuttle cock, hockey stick (field), PA System and my Dog.

Nice 'tar Ensign. Much better than the previous one.

Also as for limitations, if you do an animated avatar, you can only go up to 20k, so its pretty small. I'm maxed out and I managed to squeeze 24 frames of animation.:D

I have changed it a bit again, it is now:

• Apple Monitor
• Ensign Paris
• Moloko (Spelt it right this time :))
• Schumacher
• Steve "God" Jobs

Another tweek, added a fade between frames!

I think it will stay like this for a while now!

I really need to put my Dog in there somewhere but there just isn't enough space (currently 19.5kb or something like that :))

What do all you guys use to make your avatars? I might start work on mine, maybe one day I'll get to use it. lol :D

I used Photoshop + ImageReady.

Previously I used Illustrator.

everyone around here has these really cool avatars...and I have this boring one...

I'll see if I can get on the case this week for something better...he he he ;)

Thanks duke, ur avatar is sweet, so are ur others! :)

I would love it if avatars were 128x128 pix but I suppose it would make the forums slower for dial up connections.

I hadn't realised it looked like the screen saver, thats kind of cool!

Image ready does simple animation. I was planning to put a tutorial up this past weekend, but it was just way too nice to be inside. So I'll do it this week when I get a chance. You have plenty of time anyway.

You might want to check out the other avatar thread and see some of the things posted in there, it might help a little.
