hi i was just wondering is there any difference in plugging a mac into your tv than apple tv??
i use a mini dvi to dvi to hdmi to connect to my pioneer plasma. i have a thx sound system which i connect via the optical out..
is it worth getting an apple tv??

Well heres the outputs so it looks like you could easily hook it up with that exact setup.

Main difference is you can rent HD movies. Also, interface is designed for remote controlling from the couch.

so does the atv out put to tv resolutions as the mac does output higher than hi-def resolutions for tv's?? how does that work??
if i use interlace on the display settings, the image from the mac on the tv is larger than the screen but if i deselect it the image goes into a box smaller than the screen....???(it may be the opposite way round)
any one know why this is??
