Hi, is there anyway i can lock my Windows HD virtual hardrive (VMWare) to avoid deleting it by accident?

Over the last month I've accidentally deleted Vista twice while on my desktop :o

I know i can create an Alias but then a little arrow appears on the icon, also a little padlock appears on the icon if i lock it using Finder :( I'm picky about this stuff lol.

Help would be appreciated! thanks!

The simplest solution to this problem that I can recommend is this:

Boot into Windows
Right-Click the C: drive
Rename it to something starting with a period (for example, .Windows)
Reboot into Mac OS XThis will hide your Windows partition from the Finder, so you won't accidentally delete stuff in there.

^ Good instructions but it is a VMware virtual harddrive not bootcamp.

If you don't want the little padlock on the drive then you can't lock it.

Why do you store it on the desktop. You could just dump it elsewhere and just launch VMware to run it, or put it in the dock.

I'll just have to be very careful when deleting items on my desktop
