Does anyone here know if there's a solution to this around the corner? I want to buy an MBA, then just plug it in to my iMac at home and sync it like an iPod. That would be incredibly awesome.

Anyone else dying for this functionality?

Do it wirelessly with .mac

The clue is in the name "Air". :)

Anybody know where I can pick up a belt clip for my MBA for workouts?

Personally, I wouldn't use my MBA as an iPod... that's what iPods are for, and they are much cheaper and have more storage space. But if you want to play music and movies through your MBA, it can certainly do that if you set things up correctly. The key is not to actually store any of that stuff on the MBA itself unless you really have to, or unless you don't have a huge quantity of it.

I think that the OP just wanted to use his MBA as a machine that was synced to his desktop -- wanting to keep it as in sync as possible.

There's also a relatively new program called ToMacs (see Versiontracker) that claims to do the same. I've not used it, but I did download it with an aim to take a look. I believe it's completely free.

That seems like a weird solution.

Bingo... I go on a trip, I write a few documents, add a program, I come back home, plug in to my desktop and sync everything.

We all know Apple is heading in this direction, they've already applied for a patent on an iMac looking device that's actually a big screen that docks your laptop. http://www.tuaw.com/2008/01/03/apple-patent-suggests-notebook-docking-station/
