Hi, I'm thinking about switching to a mac after using PC's. Please bear with me if this sounds like a stupid question. Ok, right now I'm using a Dell thats about 5 years old with a Pentium 4 2.4 ghz processor and 1.25gb of RAM. I am wondering how a 2ghz mac mini core 2 duo would compare to this....hope this makes sense. Would it be faster, slower or the same??? I probably would have 2gb of RAM witht he mini. Also, one more question... how would I transfer my iTunes and some small programs onto my new mac. Thanks a lot !!!!!

The mini's Core2Duo will be quite a bit faster than your Dell's P4.

If you have an iPod, Senuti (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/14982) is great for transferring music.

One should consider this (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=449667) before buying a Mac Mini right now.

i think minis are great computers for those who are switching from pc's. you already have a monitor keyboard and mouse, so just buy the mini and your all set. i would reccomend waiting though, i think we might see an update some time this spring in the imac and mini lineup which be a significant upgrade for the mini

If you live in/near a large city, try craigslist...
